Delete Your FishProof Account
FishProof gives you full control over your data. You can permanently delete your account and all associated data at any time. This page explains how to request deletion, what data is removed, and what (if anything) is retained.
How to Delete Your Account
Option 1: Delete from Within the App (Recommended)
The fastest way to delete your account is directly through the FishProof app:
- Open FishProof and sign in to your account.
- Tap the Profile tab at the bottom of the screen, then tap the Settings gear icon in the top-right corner.
- Scroll to the bottom of the Settings screen and tap "Delete My Account."
- Confirm deletion when prompted. You will be asked to confirm a second time to prevent accidental deletion.
- Your account and all associated data will be permanently deleted. You will be signed out and returned to the welcome screen.
Option 2: Request Deletion by Email
If you cannot access the app or prefer to request deletion by email, send a message to [email protected] with the subject line "Account Deletion Request." Include the email address associated with your FishProof account so we can locate your data. We will process your request within 7 business days and send a confirmation email once deletion is complete.
What Data Is Deleted
When you delete your account — whether through the app or by email request — the following data is permanently removed from our servers:

| On-device data | All locally stored data (catch history cache, preferences, trial data) is cleared from your device when you delete your account through the app. If you delete by email, uninstall the app to clear local data. | Immediate (in-app) or upon uninstall (email request) |
What Data Is Retained
A small amount of data may be retained after account deletion for the following purposes:

| Anonymized estimation feedback | If you previously submitted accuracy feedback (thumbs up/down or actual weight), this data is anonymized — stripped of all personally identifiable information — and retained to improve AI model accuracy for all users. | Anonymized audit record | A minimal record that an account existed and was deleted is retained for operational integrity and fraud prevention. This record contains no personal information — only a random identifier and deletion timestamp. | 12 months |
Important Things to Know
- Account deletion is permanent. Once your account is deleted, it cannot be recovered. All catch history, photos, and records will be lost.
- Active subscriptions. Deleting your FishProof account does not automatically cancel any active subscription through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. You must cancel your subscription separately through your device's subscription settings before deleting your account to avoid future charges.
- Shared catches. If you previously shared a catch via a link or social media, the shared content may still be accessible at that URL until the associated photo is purged from cloud storage (within 30 days of account deletion).
